Baked Feta and Honey Dip Ingredients
Find the full list and quantities in the recipe card below.
Feta Cheese - I use a block of feta cheese as the base of this recipe, I find you get a better texture with a feta block rather than crumbled feta. Opt for a block of good quality feta as it will make a difference to the flavor of the finished dip.
Honey - A drizzle of honey adds a lovely touch of sweetness to the dip.
Tomatoes - Use any variety of fresh tomatoes in this recipe. I prefer small tomatoes like cherry tomatoes, grape tomatoes, or small heirloom tomatoes. I also like to add sundried tomatoes to the dip as they add an intense tomato flavor.
Spice - I like to add some red pepper flakes to add just a little chili heat, and to balance the sweet honey and salty feta cheese.

Place the feta blocks in the center of a small baking dish. Surround them with the cherry tomato pieces and sliced sun-dried tomatoes.

Drizzle with olive oil and place in a preheated oven to bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the tomatoes are starting to brown and feta is softened. Stir all the ingredients together until well incorporated

Optional: If you want the top of the feta to be golden, broil (UK - grill) for an additional 2 minutes - watching the dip all the time so it doesn't catch and burn.
To serve, drizzle with honey, sprinkle with red pepper flakes (if using) and garnish with fresh basil and sliced cherry tomatoes if desired.
Enjoy served with warm pita bread or your favorite pita chips for dipping!

Frequently Asked Questions
Does feta cheese melt when baked?
Rather than melting and going gooey like other cheeses, feta becomes soft and creamy when baked in the oven.
Is feta cheese healthy?
Feta is a great source of calcium, protein and probiotics. However, like most cheese it should be enjoyed in moderation.

Variations & Substitutions
- Swap the feta block for another cheese, try a block of cream cheese, or goat cheese.
- The hot honey adds sweetness to this dip, you could also use a flavored honey, like a thyme honey. Or swap the honey for maple syrup.
- I like to add fresh basil to the dip just before serving, you could also add some fresh rosemary or sprigs of fresh thyme to the dip while it bakes in the oven.
- Add different spices to the dip, try black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic seasoning, Italian seasoning or Mediterranean seasoning.
- Add a drizzle of good quality extra virgin olive oil before serving.
- Add other ingredients to the dip before serving. Try some garlic cloves, kalamata olives or chopped medjool dates.
Tips & Tricks
- No need to add salt to the dip as feta is a salty cheese.
- Served warm from the oven this dip has a saucy consistency, but it will firm up the longer it cools.

How To Serve
Serve this easy appetizer at your next party and watch everyone tuck in, it's sure to be a huge hit. I like to serve the feta cheese warm dip with pita wedges, but you could also serve crusty bread, naan or some toasted pita chips.
You could also serve this with a variety for fresh veggies. Try sticks of carrot, bell pepper, celery or cucumber, or florets of cauliflower or broccoli.

How To Reheat
This dip is best served warm, straight from the oven or at room temperature. However, leftover baked feta dip can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a day or two. When ready to heat up, place back into a hot oven to warm through.
Alternatively you can heat up in 30 second bursts in the microwave, until it's reached the desired temperature.
